Suture, Polysyn 5-0 Undyed 18" DSCM13 is a synthetic absorbable suture designed for precise wound closure with minimal tissue reaction. It is composed of polyglycolic acid, ensuring high initial tensile strength that gradually reduces over time. The suture features a proprietary coating that minimizes tissue drag, allowing for smooth passage through delicate tissues and reducing trauma during placement.

The suture is equipped with a 3/8 circle precision conventional cutting needle, measuring 13 mm in length. This needle design enhances penetration through tougher tissues while maintaining optimal control and precision. The cutting edge facilitates clean incisions, making it particularly effective in skin closure and other applications requiring sharp, precise suturing.

Polysyn 5-0 maintains approximately 50% tensile strength at two weeks and 20% at three weeks, providing adequate wound support during the early phases of healing. Complete mass absorption occurs within 50 to 90 days through hydrolysis, eliminating the need for suture removal.
